Remember when I asked for classic film stars to cast in my head for that Golden Age era story?

Well, a tumblr husband-wife duo one-upped me and created this this gorgeous poster of a classic movie inspired Justice League. There are a few choices I'll quibble with, but I'm proud of contributing the Ava Gardner Catwoman.

jordannamorgan, I need your classic film (1930s or 1940s preferable) knowledge. Any tallish dark haired leading ladies you can think of? I keep trying to find a confident and imposing Diana to match the Veronica Lake-inspired Cheetah and I'm hitting a brick wall. Everyone is way too short or just not right. I'm open to most ideas.

Is it a bad sign when you stumble on Batman references everywhere you turn? I was looking at the gorgeous vintage photos on shorpy when I came across one of a Washington DC theater playing Douglas Fairbanks' "Mark of Zorro". Warner Brothers has released the four original Nancy Drew movies with Bonita Granville on a two dvd set. These also recently aired on the Turner Classic Movies channel. Only the first and last movies are actually based on the books. Thrilling Days of Yesteryear had a lengthy review.

So I received my multiverse2004 assignment. This'll be interesting to write. I suspect I'll be rewatching a lot of canon in the next month or so. God help me.

So I posted a set of caps to Unpublished Story (1942) over on classiccaps. Valerie Hobson and Richard Greene starred as a pair of reporters mixed up in wartime espionage and intrigue.
